01Work
Nexus
Mesa's all-in-one school app. Replaced Moodle with one app for LMS, community, AI interview prep and notifications.

- 20 days
- to ship the LMS
- 600+
- daily active users
- 3–4 s → 200 ms
- API response times
- ~₹40–50L
- saved vs. the vendor route
The problem
Mesa ran on Moodle plus a stack of separate tools. Students and staff juggled logins, and every change waited on a vendor.
What I built
- 01One app with LMS, community, AI interview prep, push notifications and integrations.
- 02A text-to-SQL + RAG agent that answers staff questions from live data.
- 03A role-scoped MCP server, so admins and students can connect Nexus to their own AI agents.
- 04Rebuilt the slow paths, taking responses from 3–4 s to 200–300 ms.
How it works
- Next.js app
- Express 5 API
- Kysely
- Postgres
- AI agent
- MCP server
Decisions
Typed SQL, no runtime ORM
Kysely keeps queries visible and typed, which is how the slow endpoints got fast.
Guardrails per role
The MCP server exposes different tools to admins and students, so an agent can only see what its user can.
